Michel Gondry (Versailles, France, May 8, 1963) is a French music video director, film director and screenwriter. He has worked two times with Charlie Kaufman: one, as the director of Human Nature, his feature debut, and another as the director and co-writer of Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.[1]

Beginning his career as a music video director for French band Oui Oui, Gondry became noticed by Björk, who started a long-lasting partnership with him, leading to a successful music video directing career for Gondry.[2] He has directed videos for artists such as Radiohead, Daft Punk[3] and The Chemical Brothers. After beginning his feature career with Human Nature, he went on to become a well-regarded film director noted for his visual predicament.

The winner of an Academy Award for co-writing Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind,[4] Gondry has become a successful filmmaker in recent years, writing and directing The Science of Sleep and Be Kind Rewind as well as serving as the director of 2011 superhero film The Green Hornet.[1] He is also one of the creators of the DVD series Directors Label along with Spike Jonze and Chris Cunningham.[5]
